A Change of Plan

On Monday morning, Deniz was going to travel to another city for a training session. The train was due to leave at eight, and she expected that she would arrive before lunch. She was about to close her bag when the organiser called. The session would take place online because several participants could not travel. Deniz decided to work from home instead. She had expected that she would have finished the journey by noon, but now she could use that time to prepare more carefully. The new plan worked well. Later, she explained that she had not been unwilling to travel; the arrangements had simply changed. Describing the original plan did not mean it had actually happened.
