    An Unexpected Evening

    Murat was 32 years old. He worked in an office.

    On Friday morning, he woke up feeling happy. It was almost the weekend.

    At work, his manager asked to see him. Murat became nervous.

    “Did I do something wrong?” he thought.

    The manager talked about a mistake in an important report. Murat felt embarrassed.

    “I am sorry,” he said.

    After the meeting, he felt worried. He wanted to fix the problem. For two hours, he worked very hard. Finally, the report was correct. Now he felt proud.

    When he left the office, he was also relieved. The problem was over.

    Outside, dark clouds filled the sky. A few minutes later, heavy rain started. David had no umbrella. He felt annoyed.

    When he arrived at the train station, he checked his bag. His wallet was missing. His face turned white. He felt scared. He looked everywhere. Then he found the wallet in another pocket. Murat laughed. He felt relieved again.

    On the train, an old woman was carrying a heavy bag. Murat helped her. The woman smiled warmly. Murat felt kind and useful.

    When he arrived home, the apartment was dark. Nobody answered when he called out. The silence made him feel confused. Then he saw a light under the kitchen door. His heart started beating faster. He felt curious.

    Slowly, he opened the door.

    “Surprise!”

    His friends were inside. There was a birthday cake, balloons, and music. For a moment, Murat could not speak. He was completely surprised.

    Then he smiled. He felt excited, loved, and very happy.

    That night, everyone laughed and talked for hours.

    Before going to bed, Murat sat quietly on the sofa. He felt grateful. It had been a difficult day. But it ended beautifully.

    My New Baby Sister

    Hello! My name is Mert. I am eight years old.

    I have a new baby sister. Her name is Miray. She is one month old.

    When I first saw Miray, I was very happy. She was very small. She had little hands and little feet. She slept all day.

    Now Miray lives at home with us. She sleeps a lot. Sometimes she cries. Sometimes she is quiet. I like to look at her.

    Every morning, I say, “Good morning, Miray!” I talk to her every day. I tell her about my school. I tell her about my friends and my toys.

    My mother and father are very busy now. They take care of Miray all day. At first, I was a little sad. My parents had less time for me.

    One day, my father talked to me. He said, “Mert, you are a big brother now. We love Miray, and we love you too.”

    I felt happy after that.

    I like helping my mother. Sometimes I bring a diaper. Sometimes I bring a blanket. My mother says, “Thank you, Mert.” I feel good when I help.

    Miray is very small now. She cannot play with me yet. But I wait every day. I want her to grow up.

    One day, I want to play games with her. I want to read books to her. I want to teach her how to ride a bike. I want to make her laugh.

    I love my baby sister very much. She is small, but she is very special.

    I am happy to be her big brother.
